The RG65 Class is an “Open Class” which basically means that anything that is not specifically prohibited in the rules is allowed.
The rules are managed by the RG656 International Class Association (RG65-ICA) and were last revised in 2014.
The basic dimensions are shown in the diagram below, allowing a yacht with an overall length of 65cm, a mast height (from deck) of 110cm and a total sail area of 2250cm2

Sails should carry the class insignia and sail numbers should be a minimum of 8cm in height. Full details for their position are in the class rules.
A spreadsheet has been put together that will take the hard work out of the calculations. There are two versions, one for Microsoft Office and the other for MAC Open Office. There is also a PDF file giving an example of how to use the spread sheet. This spread sheet is offered for free use by the UK RG65 Class Association and the results of the calculations will be accepted at any meeting with Open or National status, providing the drawing as described in the class rules, as per the example is included.
At the moment there is no formal measurement requirement for the RG65 Class. Boats and rigs should be be self measured using the forms in the the class rules document.
