As time has gone on, we find that there is less opportunity for people to design and build their own RG65 and so they have turned to a few builders to build and deliver their next boat.
As a result, we have seen the build quality improve significantly, the materials become more specialised and the overall performance of the RG65 boats increase significantly.
But this brings some downsides for the new skipper wanting to join the class including, cost and immediate availability. Most of the specialist builders do it as a sideline and as a result, lead times for delivery of a boat are getting longer and longer, and the number of builders seems to be reducing. But scratch beneath the surface and there are a lot of builders who currently a build one or more designs of RG65, it’s just about finding out who they are and how to contact them.
So, to help you we are adding this section to the RG65 website to share as much information as we know of. Please do get in touch (via the Contact Form) if you know of builders currently able to build RG65’s.
This list is in no order and the ICA will not give any direct advice or preference of a design or designer. Click on the name and you will see additional information supplied by the builder.
